Our Stance on Gender-Based Pay
Everyone here at huhwhatohhahaok.fashion.blog are very against this whole issue. We believe that everyone deserves equal opportunity and equal pay no matter gender, sexuality, etc. I personally believe that this is a horrible thing and should’ve been solved forever ago, actually it shouldn’t have been a problem at all. It makes me sick to think that there are people out there who see women as less than men, its just not fair at all and very demeaning.
Beth Rower at Infoplease stated, “Until the early 1960s, newspapers published separate job listings for men and women. Jobs were categorized according to sex, with the higher level jobs listed almost exclusively under “Help Wanted—Male.” In some cases the ads ran identical jobs under male and female listings—but with separate pay scales”(Rower par. 4). This quote states that even in the 1900’s when women started to join the work force, men who run the companies and business are very sexist and unfair towards women. Men always saw women as housekeepers and people who raise the children. Rower makes very good points in her article about even though the government made changes to “Equal Pay”, it still did not change anything in the pay scale.
